We currently have an opportunity within SPIE Oil & Gas Services Middle East LLC Doha, Qatar for a

Production Technician

Job Purpose:

Ensure safe and accurate operation of wells, production processes and utility systems in accordance with Company Procedures.

Your main duties will be to:
  1. Operate process and utility equipment, wells, pipelines etc. in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with operating procedures and guidelines.
  2. Monitor and control all oil, gas production and utility systems to ensure that production and environmental targets are achieved.
  3. Act as a member of the Offshore Emergency Response Team in the event of an incident to ensure minimal harm to personnel, environment and asset.
  4. Contribute to the development and review of risk assessments to ensure that hazards have been identified, adequate mitigations are in place and risk has been reduced.
  5. Assist the Production Supervisor in safe delivery of core business through active management of production tasks and core operational activities.
  6. Act as a Permit Authority to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with the Permit to Work process and company requirements.
  7. Provide the Production Supervisor with analysis and comment on production volumes, opportunities and risks in order to improve business performance.
  8. Provide visible leadership to personnel to ensure production targets are met and production / rejection volumes are maximized.
  9. Promote NOC core values by being a safety role model, showing trust, respect and commitment, fostering collaboration across the organization.
  10. Promote cost consciousness in order to embed a strong cost culture.
  11. Drive an incident free environment by establishing and maintaining a strong incident free culture.
  12. Actively participate in and promote company health and safety campaigns, policies and procedures, that ensures personal safety and that of colleagues at all times.
  13. Ensure compliance with Operating Procedures and Guidelines to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety and Plant Integrity.
  14. Conduct chemical stock checks and ensure chemical injections are optimised.
  15. Isolate and make safe equipment for maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:

Ideally, you will have graduated with minimum Higher Secondary School Education plus a three-year technical diploma (HNC, HND or equivalent).

Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 5 years offshore level on-field equipment in diversified oil & gas processing or petrochemical plants.

You are fluent in English with both written and verbal communication.

You will have good interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as, a good level of computer literacy and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Profile

Education: High School Diploma / Technical certificate in Discipline.
Industry Experience: Minimum 4 years recent experience in the petrochemical, refining, oil/gas exploration and/or production industries in a similar role.

Competencies and Behaviors:
  1. Thorough understanding and use of P&ID and C&E drawings and how isolations are created, applied and controlled.
  2. Basic understanding of instrumentation and control equipment principles, including fault diagnosis.
  3. Thorough understanding and application of industry process safety guidelines and procedures.
  4. Ability to set and implement operational objectives.
  5. Motivated, flexible in approach and with a proactive mindset.
  6. Ability to work with teams in a complex and multicultural environment.
  7. Leadership, communication and analytical skills.
  8. Fluent in written and spoken English.
  9. Computer literate.
