Web Summit in Qatar is seeking a Production Assistant Manager to support the Live Events Team in delivering world‑class experiences. You will lead production activities, coordinate with suppliers and staff, and drive cost control while ensuring safe, high‑quality event execution.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production management, fluency in Arabic, and strong skills in AutoCAD/Vectorworks/REVIT, Excel, and Google Docs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years proven experience in a production management related capacity.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred.
  • Fluent Arabic speaker.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or REVIT.
  • Strong Excel and Google Docs experience.
  • Able to meet tight and moving deadlines.
  • Independent, ambitious, and proactive.
  • Experience budgeting productions and events.
  • Knowledge of rigging, AV, lighting, staging.
  • Site management experience including power, transport and warehousing.
  • Experience working with suppliers and freelance staff.
  • Ability to draft procurement specifications.
  • Understanding of event layouts and production plans.
  • Familiar with Qatar venues and licensing requirements.

Job description

We are looking for a Production Assistant Manager to support the Live Events Team in delivering world‑class event experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Bring the event to life and deliver an amazing attendee experience.
  • Manage part of the production and engage with suppliers, department heads, operators, freelance staff, and key event personnel to ensure flawless technical operation.
  • Assist in finding technical solutions to creative designs.
  • Assist in costing for spending forecasts, maintain accurate records of all production expenditures, and collaborate with procurement to secure best value.
  • Help create and run production schedules with suppliers and key departments.
  • Liaise with and maintain clear communication channels with internal departments and team leads.
  • Communicate courteously with clients and external parties.
  • Own timeline development as part of project management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum five years proven experience in a production management related capacity.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (strong academic performance preferred).
  • Fluent Arabic speaker.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD, Vectorworks, or REVIT.
  • Strong experience with Excel and Google Docs.
  • Strong administrative skills and ability to meet tight, moving deadlines.
  • Ambitious, self‑motivated, and able to work independently to accomplish tasks.
  • Effective cost control for budgets and strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Experience budgeting productions and special events.
  • Solid knowledge of rigging, AV, broadcast, lighting, and staging.
  • Experience in site management aspects of events, including power, mechanical services, set construction, crewing, transport logistics, and warehousing.
  • Experience working with technical suppliers, freelance personnel, and operators.
  • Ability to draft detailed technical specifications for tender and procurement.
  • Understanding of event layout drawings and technical production plans.
  • Familiarity with Qatar venues, local and regional suppliers, and local government licensing requirements.
  • Experience creating and communicating production schedules.
  • Creative and technical problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to excel under pressure, handle change, and make confident decisions.
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential matters.
