Job Description - Principal Process Engineer (DOH01IW):

Purpose

You will provide process engineering services on large or mega projects to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the process engineering team.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage process engineering services that meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory specifications, on time and within budget.
  2. Manage process engineering project requirements.
  3. Manage process engineering services such as participating in relevant meetings, preparing progress reports, and complying with required checking procedures; ensure the project scope is clear and that changes comply with project change management processes; provide advice during procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. For example, oversee requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and purchase order preparation.
  4. Act as the process engineering Lead on specific projects.
  5. If responsible for a team: outline project requirements including actively promoting workshare, where appropriate, assign tasks and supervise progress; and ensure the required services meet Worley, its customers, and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, on time and within budget.
  6. Proactively resolve any discrepancies between Worley and its Customer's requirements.
  7. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments and technical innovations in process engineering.
  8. If required, assist and support junior personnel within the process engineering team.
  9. Communicate effectively with the process engineering team and project stakeholders, including the Customer.
  10. Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required.

Quality Assurance: Work within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance systems.

Safety: Responsible for personal safety and working within the Occupational Health & Safety policies, focusing on process safety and striving to use best practices.

What you will bring - Technical and Industry Experience

  • Excellent technical and practical engineering skills with the ability to deliver quality, accurate, and timely work to Worley and its clients.
  • Strong knowledge of fundamental process engineering requirements and basic requirements of other engineering fields.
  • Knowledge of applicable local and international standards, statutory, and regulatory specifications.
  • Competent in using relevant software such as MS Office Suite and process engineering-specific software.
  • Extensive experience in process engineering within the same or similar industry, including working on multi-disciplinary projects and teams.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training Required :

  • A recognized and relevant engineering degree.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications in engineering; management, project management, or supervisory qualifications or equivalent.
