Planner / Scheduler – Major Petrochemical Project | Qatar
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, review, and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, including Level 3/Level 4 schedules.
- Participate in interactive planning sessions and development of EPC contractor schedule deliverables.
- Review and challenge contractor baseline and update schedules, including EVMS.
- Perform critical path, near-critical path, float, trend, and schedule variance analysis.
- Conduct what-if analysis and develop mitigation, recovery, and workaround strategies.
- Validate contractor progress, productivity, earned value, and claimed payment milestones.
- Review contractor weekly and monthly reports for accuracy and consistency.
- Develop 3-week lookahead schedules, dashboards, S-curves, KPIs, and management reports.
- Identify schedule interfaces and constraints across Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Pre-Commissioning, Commissioning, and Start-up.
- Support schedule risk management, including schedule contingency and mitigation actions.
- Perform time-impact analysis and support assessment of contractor schedule claims.
- Forecast key milestones including construction completion, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
- Ensure schedule information is aligned with project cost, risk, change management, and progress-control processes.
- Identify emerging schedule risks and provide recommendations to Project Management.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant project planning/scheduling experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of Primavera P6.
- Strong experience with schedule risk analysis and Acumen Fuse.
- Strong knowledge of CPM, EVM, progress measurement, forecasting, and schedule variance analysis.
- Proven experience reviewing, analyzing, and challenging EPC contractor schedules.
- Experience in schedule recovery planning, mitigation strategies, and time-impact analysis.
- Experience on petrochemical projects covering design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
- Previous Operator capital-project experience and/or EPC contractor experience.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- Excellent analytical, communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take ownership and lead.
- Strong commitment to HSE and project execution excellence.
Preferred
- Experience on grass-roots mega capital petrochemical, LNG, or Oil & Gas projects.
- Experience supporting projects through construction, commissioning, and start-up.
