Job summary

QatarEnergy invites a Subject-Matter Expert in Continuous Improvement to lead the development, implementation, and sustainment of CI programs across Onshore and Offshore Operations. You will champion performance optimization and coordinate OE tools upgrades, fostering excellence and reliable commissioning for new facilities.

You will assess OE programs, set KPIs, and drive health checks across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or business management.
• Experience implementing Operations Excellence and Process Safety programs or similar, with CI initiatives.
• Experience with statistical software such as JMP or Minitab.

Job description

• Serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) and champion on the development, implementation and sustainment of structured continuous improvement (CI) programs, best practices and performance optimization strategies during low and medium complexity of multi-sites project implementation for Operations Processes and Tools to meet expected standards and deliver maximum benefits in a sustainable manner and lead the resolution of Assurance initiative/enhancement project across the whole spectrum of technical, operational and interface or relationship issues that arise within the Onshore and Offshore Operations facilities.
• Assesses and reviews implemented OE programs by setting KPIs to guarantee their sustainability for Onshore/Offshore existing and new expansion Assets.
• Carries out routine assessments to confirm health standards and recognize opportunities for improvement throughout all sites to ensure efficient implementation.
• Incorporates existing processes into the new assets/facilities within the assigned areas of responsibility to fulfill expected standards and deliver optimal benefits in a sustainable manner.
• Administers and coordinates upgrade and replacement projects for OE Tools, apply a lean process framework, and execute the specified enhancements.
• Embeds and supports delivery of excellence processes in the new facilities and operations readiness plan (ORP) for new expansions/projects which is required to achieve flawless commissioning and start-up of new facilities.
• Drives changes in behaviours across all assets by introducing important new programs, concepts, and best practices, in alignment with Operations Group strategies.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

• Identify strategic continuous improvement opportunities, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to gather business requirement and ensure project alignment with corporate objective and goals to optimize Operations efficiency and drive productivity across function.
• Act as Operations process enabler to lead and oversee process improvement initiatives, cost optimization opportunities, organize workshop/focus group discussion as applicable, process assessment, health check, steward effective implementation manage timeline/resource/ budget to achieve and sustain business objectives.
• Create and execute communication plans to promote new Operations Excellence Programs. Lead change management and provide mentoring to respective function to cascade expertise in Continuous Improvement (CI)/Lean Six Sigma methodology/strategic change management and integrate into the company culture.
• Develop, establish, maintain and revise relevant Operations Excellence process, procedures, manual guidelines and training materials on Operations Excellence related program to reflect accomplish CI initiatives, best practices and Operational requirement for both process enhancement and project deliverables.
• Conduct comprehensive training technical supports and guidance to relevant party to maintain high standard of Operational Excellence and equip team to adapt to new technologies.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

• Evaluate, develop and enhance existing data governance and management processes to support efficient Operations work processes and implementing relevant statistical tools and comparative techniques as well as technology on statistical driven solutions to increase system reliability/performance and support objective reporting and decision making.
• Implement Company risk management framework and full compliance with relevant industry/country regulations, standard and internal governance principle.
• Build and nurture strong relationships with Operations process owner, internal and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless project execution and sustain process gains for continual improvement.
• Conduct regular evaluation and oversee multiple Operations Excellence program/projects to ensure implementation are carried out in adherence with CI governance guidelines and company project management standards.
• Present various Operations Excellence program/project implementation progress to respective Operations leadership meeting, champion and process owners for informed decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or business management.

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

• 8 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, or within Operations functions.
• Experience in the implementation of Operations Excellence and Process Safety programs or similar, new Operations Excellence concepts and Continuous Improvement programs.
• Experience in the application and utilization of statistical software such as JMP or Minitab.
• Good knowledge and experience in global best practices/Operations Excellence/Process Safety Program initiatives.
• Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable results and achieving operational excellence.
• Familiarity to implement change management programs.

Technical and Business Skills - I

• Strong leadership skills. Able to drive change behaviour in Operations teams with the introduction of new concepts and Best Practices and ability to seek alignment and support from Operations Management.
• High level of proficiency in written/spoken English and presentations skills.
• Strong computer literacy, to include extensive knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI).
• Strong facilitation skills and proven ability to conduct workshops.
• Proficiency in using technology to automate and improve business processes.
