Job summary

Swan Global is seeking an Offshore Rig Welder to work on Offshore Oil & Gas Rigs (Platforms, Drillships, FPSOs) in a rotational 28 days on/28 days off cycle. This role requires welding high-stress components, strict adherence to safety protocols, and capability to perform under challenging offshore conditions.

Required certifications include AWS D1.1 or ASME IX, plus offshore certs BOSIET/FOET, HUET, OGUK/UKOOA Medical Fitness, and Confined Space Entry.

Qualifications

Offshore-Specific Certs:

• BOSIET/FOET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction)
• HUET (Helicopter Underwater Escape Training)
• OGUK/UKOOA Medical Fitness
• Confined Space Entry (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Critical Fabrication & Repair:
  • Weld high-stress components (e.g., risers, pipelines, rig structural supports) under variable weather/sea conditions.
• 2. Strict Compliance:
  • Adhere to offshore safety protocols (e.g., PTW systems, gas testing, H2S awareness).
  • Follow rig-specific procedures (e.g., hot work permits, simultaneous operations rules).
  • Weld high-grade alloys (e.g., duplex stainless steel, Inconel) resistant to saltwater corrosion.
  • Address vibration/fatigue stresses unique to dynamic offshore structures.
• 4. Emergency Response:
  • Act as part of the rigs emergency team for urgent repairs (e.g., blowout preventer leaks).
• 5. Logistical Constraints:
  • Work in confined spaces (e.g., ballast tanks, leg columns) with limited ventilation.
