Overview

Mechanical Technician: Responsible for assisting with the repairs, adjustments, and ongoing/preventative maintenance on equipment, buildings, systems, or machinery. Areas of specialization may include, but are not limited to, electrical, mechanical, vacuum, motors, hydraulic, fuels, gasoline, diesel, refrigeration, and all other types of equipment. May assist with maintenance for electrical, painting, HVAC and/or carpentry, meters, gauges, switches, valves, pumps, plumbing fixtures, plasters, brick, and woodwork. Build sheds and other outbuildings. Conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Maintains all tools, measuring instruments, and equipment necessary to perform work. Typically requires working knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through formal training or work experience.

  • Assist with maintenance across areas such as electrical, mechanical, vacuum, motors, hydraulic, fuels, gasoline, diesel, refrigeration, and other equipment.
  • May assist with maintenance for electrical, painting, HVAC and/or carpentry, meters, gauges, switches, valves, pumps, plumbing fixtures, plasters, brick, and woodwork. Build sheds and other outbuildings as needed.
  • Maintain all tools, measuring instruments, and equipment necessary to perform work.
  • Work under moderate supervision in straightforward situations, assess situations using standard procedures, and make sound decisions.
  • Communicate information that requires some explanation or interpretation.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: High School diploma with at least 8 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience.
