Job summary

Al-Futtaim Automotive is seeking a Master Paint Technician to prepare and finish automotive surfaces, applying filler, primer, and paint to manufacturer specifications.

You will perform compounding and polishing, ensuring high-quality finishes and safety compliance, while maintaining tools and work areas in an organized state. Two to three years of paint shop experience and relevant ITI training are required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in car paint shop and finishing processes.
• Ability to prepare, priming, painting, rubbing and polishing surfaces to high standards.
• Know-how to follow manufacturer repair standards and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Apply body filler and sand surfaces in preparation for painting.
• Apply primer and paint per manufacturer repair standards.
• Perform machine compounding and polishing to restore finish as per final inspection reports.
• Maintain repair quality and car body durability to manufacturer standards.
• Review repeat repair reports and final inspection reports to prevent issues.
• Follow safety practices and use PPE during painting jobs.
• Keep tools and work area clean and orderly.
• Participate in team safety discussions and training sessions.
• Report incidents to supervisors and undertake safety training as provided.

The technician plays a crucial role in completing car paintings as per dealer standards, with a focus on problem-solving and the efficient use of tools and technology.

What You Will Do:

• Apply body filler and sand surfaces to prepare for painting.
• Apply primer and paint according to manufacturer's repair standards.
• Perform machine compounding and polishing to restore finish of old cars according to final inspection reports.
• Maintain repair quality and car body durability to manufacturer's standards.
• Review and prevent issues highlighted in repeat repair reports and final inspection reports.
• Implement safety practices while conducting painting jobs.
• Use safety equipment like respirators and protective clothing during work.
• Keep tools and work area clean and orderly.
• Participate in team safety discussions and training sessions.
• Report incidents to supervisors and undertake safety training as provided.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

• Knowledge of paint mixing technology and application methods.
• Proficiency in the use of sanding and painting tools and equipment.
• Strong adherence to safety and quality standards.
• Ability to follow manufacturer guidelines and operational procedures.

What Qualifies You For The Role:

• 2 - 3 years of experience in a car paint shop.
• High School diploma and ITI Course in Automobile Engineering specializing in car body painting and refinishing.
• Skills in preparing, priming, painting, rubbing, and polishing surfaces.
• Capability to use conventional paint spray equipment and learn advanced painting technology.
• Experience in using compounding and polishing machines for high-quality finishes.
