Job summary

Banana Island Resort Doha By Anantara is seeking an experienced Marine Electrical Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair marine electrical systems on our vessels and shore facilities in Doha. You will supervise electrical work during dry dock, prepare SOWs, and ensure compliance with specs while keeping thorough maintenance records.

Required are at least 5 years in a similar role (sea-going preferred), strong English, and a Qatar driving license.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar capacity (sea-going experience preferred).
  • Good command of English; Arabic language knowledge is a plus.
  • Market knowledge of engine products is desirable.
  • Qatar driving license is required.

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all marine electrical systems on vessels.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain shore power supply pedestals for safe operation.
  • Prepare the Scope of Work (SOW) for the electrical section of each vessel prior to dry dock.
  • Supervise and verify electrical work during dry dock and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain documentation, reports, and maintenance records; respond to marine electrical emergencies 24/7.

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all marine electrical systems
  • onboard vessels.
  • Maintain and service generators, switchboards, batteries, shore power systems,
  • navigation lights, control panels, and related marine electrical equipment.
  • Ensure proper execution of Preventive Planned Maintenance (PPM) for all electrical
  • systems.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain all shore power supply pedestals to ensure safe and reliable
  • operation.
  • Prepare the Scope of Work (SOW) for the electrical section of each vessel prior to dry
  • dock, as well as for normal operations, ensuring all requirements and operational
  • standards are met
  • Supervise and verify all electrical work carried out during dry dock and ensure
  • compliance with approved specifications.
  • Conduct final inspections and confirm completion of electrical works before vessel
  • re-commissioning.
  • Ensure timely requisition of electrical spare parts and materials. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and maintenance records. Monitor and respond to all message box complaints related to marine electrical issues,
  • ensure timely rectification, and close the complaints properly in the system.
  • Always use proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Report accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions immediately. Be on standby for marine electrical emergencies 24/7 and respond promptly when
  • required.
  • Attend and represent the Marine Engineering department during inspections
  • conducted by authorities, ensuring full compliance and providing all required
  • technical documentation and support.
  • Work independently under the instruction of the Marine Supervisor and Marine
  • Maintenance Manager.
  • Provide regular updates and report to the Marine Supervisor, Marine Maintenance
  • Manager, Assistant Chief Engineer, and Director of Engineering regarding work
  • progress, issues, and operational status
