PPL Dynamics is seeking an experienced Machinist Operator to run conventional lathes, boring and small milling operations in Doha, Qatar. The role emphasizes precision machining, complex repairs on turbo and gas turbines, and reverse engineering of worn components.

You will generate 2D/3D CAD drawings, assist engineering with design improvements, and contribute to workshop development while upholding a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Technical Certification in Mechanical Engineering or Machining.
  • 10+ years of experience in rotating equipment repairs and machining operations.
  • Proven ability to operate horizontal lathes, boring machines, and milling machines.
  • Strong knowledge of turbo compressors, reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, and gas turbines repair processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering techniques and precision measurement tools.
  • Excellent understanding of safety standards and workshop best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Machining & Repairs: Operate horizontal lathes, boring machines, and milling machines for precision machining tasks.
  • Has the knowledge to Perform complex repairs on turbo compressors, reciprocating compressors, steam turbines, and gas turbines.
  • Execute reverse engineering for worn or damaged components.
  • Inspection & Reporting: Conduct detailed dimensional inspections of parts using precision measuring tools.
  • Prepare comprehensive inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Technical Drawing & Engineering Support: Generate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for components and assemblies.
  • Support reverse engineering projects and contribute to design improvements.
  • Workshop Development: Collaborate on process improvements and workshop development initiatives.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in all activities.
  • Administrative & Digital Skills: Utilize MS Office for reporting, documentation, and communication.
