Job summary

Petrotec in Qatar is seeking a Design Engineer to develop and refine LV switchgear designs, ensuring manufacturability, safety, and cost efficiency. You will work with production, quality, and procurement to translate client requirements into detailed drawings and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate or Diploma in Engineering in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Electronics.
• Experience designing LV switchboards and protection relays.
• Oil & Gas project experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed designs, drawings, and specifications suitable for the process.
• Collaborate with production, quality, and procurement to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Perform design calculations, simulations, and prototype testing to validate concepts.
• Optimize existing product designs to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and enhance performance.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company guidelines.
• Prepare technical documentation, including bills of materials, assembly instructions, and maintenance manuals.
• Participate in design reviews, production trials, and problem-solving initiatives.
• Suggest process improvements and innovative design solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Liaise with clients and project teams to understand requirements and implement design changes as needed.
• Stay updated with manufacturing technologies, design software, and industry best practices.
