Job summary

Qatar Airways invites applications for a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level 1 to deliver aircraft maintenance activities supporting flight operations and ensuring safety and efficiency in service.

The candidate will plan tasks, review procedures, release work, and mentor technicians while maintaining quality and tool discipline to meet dispatch reliability goals. Strong QR main fleet licensing and driving capabilities are desirable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with HS or 4 years with Bachelor's.
• Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
• Must hold at least 1 full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license.
• Equipment/heavy vehicle driving license may be required for maintenance tasks.
• Ability to determine tools and equipment needed and solve problems.
• Managerial skills: delegate, mentor and train subordinates.

Responsibilities

• Plan assigned maintenance activities following Qatar Airways procedures.
• Review procedures and propose improvements for efficiency.
• Release work completed by mechanics to meet standards.
• Ensure aircraft serviceability and on-time dispatch.
• Provide guidance and on-the-job training to technicians.

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level 1 who is responsible to deliver aircraft Maintenance activities to directly support flight operations maintenance checks and duties within their authority as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. To provide specialized knowledge skills and expertise and require ensuring safe, effective and efficient operation.

Operational

• Plan assigned activities in an effective and efficient manner, operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within framework of Qatar Airways procedures.
• Reviews work procedures, standards and proposes improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure work processes are effective.
• Responsible for the final release of work accomplished by the Mechanics. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company/Customer standard and target such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects.
• Ensure delivery standard of QR/customer products are met. Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures. Provide satisfactory support to internal and external customers.
• Implement solutions to technical problems within his range of his authority, and ensure that aircrafts or components serviceability standards are maintained to meet schedule requirements.
• Provide guidance and or on the job training to the Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this position.
• When supervising the wok of others, ensuring that acceptable standard of workmanship and quality are maintained and the correct tools are employed to accomplish the task.

Qualifications

About You:

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
• Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or vocation aircraft maintenance qualification or Degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering
• Must hold minimum 1 full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
• As per company requirement, must arrange to have equipment, heavy vehicle driving license to facilitate Maintenance task requirements.
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Using mathematics to solve problems.
• Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
• Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.
