Job summary

Qatar Airways is seeking a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level 1 to deliver maintenance activities supporting flight operations. You will supervise mechanics, ensure safety and quality, and release completed work under QR procedures.

The role requires a full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license, strong mentoring ability, and the capacity to provide on-the-job training to technicians within a busy heavy maintenance environment in Qatar.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of job-related experience with Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or equivalent; 4 years with Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
• Essential Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or related qualification; degree (B.Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering.
• Must hold minimum 1 full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
• Equipment driving license may be required to facilitate maintenance tasks.
• Ability to determine tools and equipment needed, and to apply mathematics to solve problems.
• Strong managerial, mentoring and coaching skills; ability to train and develop subordinates.
• Ability to foster teamwork and supervise others.

Responsibilities

• Deliver aircraft maintenance activities to support flight operations and checks within the engineer’s authority.
• Provide specialized knowledge and ensure work is carried out to QR/customer standards and on-time for dispatch.
• Release work after final check by mechanics and ensure compliance with procedures.
• Guide and train technicians and aircraft mechanics; supervise and ensure quality workmanship.

About the Role

Qatar Airways are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to join our Technical Engineering team as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer Level 1 who is responsible to deliver aircraft Maintenance activities to directly support flight operations maintenance checks and duties within their authority as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer. To provide specialized knowledge skills and expertise and require ensuring safe, effective and efficient operation. Operational Plan assigned activities in an effective and efficient manner, operate equipment or use tooling relative to assigned tasks within framework of Qatar Airways procedures. Reviews work procedures, standards and proposes improvements where procedures are not appropriate to ensure work processes are effective. Responsible for the final release of work accomplished by the Mechanics. Ensure tasks are performed to meet company/Customer standard and target such as dispatch reliability and level of acceptable deferred defects. Ensure delivery standard of QR/customer products are met. Aircraft maintenance tasks are accomplished in accordance with laid down policies and procedures. Provide satisfactory support to internal and external customers. Implement solutions to technical problems within his range of his authority, and ensure that aircrafts or components serviceability standards are maintained to meet schedule requirements. Provide guidance and or on the job training to the Technicians and Aircraft Mechanics reporting to this position. When supervising the wok of others, ensuring that acceptable standard of workmanship and quality are maintained and the correct tools are employed to accomplish the task. Qualifications

• High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 5 years of job-related experience OR Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience
• Essential Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or vocation aircraft maintenance qualification or Degree (B. Eng., BSc) or equivalent in aircraft engineering
• Must hold minimum 1 full QR main fleet ICAO/QCAA license and approvals.
• As per company requirement, must arrange to have equipment, heavy vehicle driving license to facilitate Maintenance task requirements.
• Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
• Using mathematics to solve problems.
