Job summary

ConFlip is seeking a detail-oriented Library Assistant to join our team in Al-Rayyan, Qatar. You will support the librarian in daily operations and help library patrons access resources and services.

The role is part-time with visa sponsorship and a round-trip ticket from India. Responsibilities include assisting patrons, shelving, data entry, creating displays, and helping run programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• Experience in a library or customer service environment is a plus.
• Familiarity with cataloging systems and basic research techniques.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with diverse groups.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Proficiency in English; Hindi language skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patrons with locating and checking out materials, as well as answering general questions about library resources and services.
• Organize and maintain library collections, including shelving books, labeling materials, and processing new items.
• Perform routine clerical tasks such as data entry, photocopying, and filing.
• Conduct basic research using online databases and other resources to assist patrons with information needs.
• Create displays and promotional materials to highlight library resources and events.
• Assist with planning and implementing library programs, such as storytimes or book clubs.
• Assist with maintaining the library's website, social media presence, and other digital platforms.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the library space.
• Other duties as assigned by the librarian.

Requirements

This is a part-time position without accommodation provided. The successful candidate must have legal authorization to work in Qatar.

Salary: 1000 QAR per month. Visa sponsorship and round-trip ticket from India will be provided.
