Librarian

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Librarian to join our team at our busy library in Al-Rayyan. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library's resources, assisting patrons with research and information needs, and promoting literacy and education through various programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Organize and maintain the library's collection of books, magazines, newspapers, audiovisual materials, and other resources
• Assist patrons with finding and accessing information
• Develop and implement programs to promote literacy, education, and community engagement
• Catalogue new materials using the Dewey Decimal System or other classification methods
• Manage the library's budget and make purchasing decisions for new materials
• Train and supervise library staff
• Stay updated on current trends in library science and technology

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
• At least 2 years of experience working as a Librarian or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of library systems, cataloging methods, and information resources
• Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Passion for promoting literacy, education, and community engagement
