Georgetown University in Qatar (GU‑Q) seeks a Language Support Specialist to aid language learning and tutoring within the Office of Academic Services. This term, part‑time role (29 hours/week) is based in Doha and requires local sponsorship. It combines tutoring with program administration and strategic planning for student success.

The position emphasizes English/Arabic language support, tutoring Arabic and French, and developing language resources for a multilingual campus community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s Degree (completed or in progress) in Arabic Language and Literature, Arabic Applied Linguistics, French, TESOL, Education, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Support language learners across beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels.
• Mentor and train student language tutors (Arabic and French).
• Assist in design and delivery of workshops, seminars, and materials promoting language learning.
• Provide expert one-on-one tutoring sessions focusing on speaking, writing, and academic language skills.
• Provide general and admin support for OAS programs.
• Prepare professional presentations and data for internal and steering committee meetings.
