Purpose: This position is responsible for performing laboratory tests and procedures to support the medical services provided by Medical Center.
Job Summary: The incumbent's goal is to perform laboratory tests, analyze results, and report findings to support medical diagnosis & treatment.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Perform routine and specialized tests on samples using established methods & techniques.
- Analyze test results, prepare reports, and communicate findings to supervisors or other team members.
- Ensure accurate documentation of results.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments & equipment, ensuring they are functioning properly.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of laboratory supplies & reagents, notifying management when inventory levels are low.
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality control procedures to ensure accurate results.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to testing procedures, equipment, or sample quality.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols, regulations, and standards.
- Work closely with other lab personnel, researchers, or clinical staff to support research, diagnostics, or product development efforts.
- Communicate test results, findings, and recommendations to medical staff and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to medical staff on laboratory-related matters.
- Assist in training new staff or interns on laboratory protocols, safety procedures, and equipment usage.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior laboratory staff & other medical personnel.
- Stay updated on new laboratory technologies, techniques, and methodologies to improve laboratory operations & services.

Minimum Required Qualifications, Certificates & Skills:
- At least a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biochemistry or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years GCC experience in a laboratory setting preferably working in a medical center or hospital.
- Any relevant certification or training such as:
Lab Technologist license from the QCHP-MoPH (Mandatory)
- Certified Medical Laboratory Technologist (CMLT)
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Certification
- Occupational Health and Safety Certification (OHSC)
- Valid lab technologist license (Mandatory - Qatari licensed)
