Job summary

Work standard is hiring a Junior Accountant in Doha, Qatar. The candidate will support daily accounting tasks, ledger maintenance, and financial reporting in a full-time role. Freshers and experienced candidates are welcome, with 1–2 years of related experience preferred.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, proficiency in Excel, and strong attention to detail. CPA/ACCA is a plus, and familiarity with QuickBooks is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent).
• 1–2 years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA) is an asset.
• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Assist with budget preparation and monitoring
• Ensure accuracy of financial records and compliance with accounting standards
• Communicate with clients and vendors to resolve discrepancies or issues
• Assist with month-end closing procedures
• Support the senior accountant in various tasks as needed
