Job description

Job Description

  • Works with content experts (faculty, disciplines, and departments) in identifying student learning outcomes to be delivered through online/hybrid activities.
  • Develops overall plans and design for presenting course content in a comprehensive web-based environment.
  • Aligns activities and their assessment to student learning outcomes.
  • Assists content experts to determine which elements of course delivery (lectures, activities, assessments, use of publisher textbooks and other published materials) should be included in the online environment and how they should be included.
  • Supervises the creation of media to assist student learning (videos, PowerPoint presentations/interactive activities, graphics, animation, etc.).
  • Assists faculty in apportioning assignments between face-to-face and online to ensure that hybrid portions of the classes require appropriate amounts of time (student workload) and fulfill appropriate elements of the hybrid-focused activities.
  • Consults with faculty and staff to identify, research, analyze, and evaluate new technologies for potential application in instruction to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Mentors faculty in the design and development of technology-enhanced courses.
  • Working with faculty and student affairs experts, designs the format for an appropriate student orientation to be included within each hybrid class shell.
  • Ensures that the format of hybrid classes aligns across the courses offered at the college, with a common look and feel, common instructions, and including a common student orientation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills

  • Knowledge of learning management systems, especially Blackboard.
  • Knowledge of the array of software and hardware necessary to support the development of hybrid courses: business information systems (including word processing and production), video editing, multimedia development, interactive technology, web development.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships across the organization, including team members at remote sites.
  • Ability to operate well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong bilingual interaction skills, English and Arabic.
