Industrial OT Security Engineer: ICS & ISA Compliance

Job summary

IRM Energy & Technology in Qatar is seeking an experienced ICs cybersecurity engineer to support security implementation, audits, risk assessments, and ongoing improvements across ICs security strategies and design specifications.

You will advise ICs Custodians and Technicians on security maintenance, review architectures for compliance, and lead self-assessments and training to strengthen OT security posture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (I&C, Electrical, Electronics, Computer) or Computer Science.
• 6+ years oil & gas experience with ICs cybersecurity exposure.
• Experience implementing security controls in OT environments.
• Good understanding of Industrial Control Systems and OT environments.
• Knowledge of ICs security, networking, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and security monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of IEC, ANSI/ISA, API RP, and other relevant international standards.

Responsibilities

• Support ICs modifications, equipment strategies, system upgrades, and best-practice implementation.
• Review ICs architectures, design specifications, and interfaces for security compliance.
• Participate in risk assessments, technology evaluations, DRP simulations, incident investigations, and continuous improvement.
• Validate brownfield modifications through FAT/SAT and support operational readiness and handover.
• Coordinate with ICs Security Custodians and ICSE Technicians to ensure policy compliance.
• Provide technical guidance on ICs Security Policy requirements across engineering, projects, and operations.
• Support periodic ICs security self-assessments and compliance reviews.
• Maintain ICs inventory, plans, schedules, KPIs, and contractor/service-provider activities.
• Conduct training, support competency development, and monitor emerging ICs security technologies.
