Job summary

Venture Gulf Engineering W.L.L in Qatar is seeking an experienced heavy vehicle trailer driver for a full-time, on-site role. You will load and unload, verify loads, and deliver goods while maintaining strict safety standards and vehicle maintenance.

Candidates should have at least five years of experience driving heavy equipment trailers, hold a Qatar Driving License with competence certification, and be fluent in English. Age 30–45 and strong safety awareness are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum secondary education.
• Five years’ experience driving heavy equipment trailers/trucks.
• Valid Qatar Driving License and competence certificate.
• English speaking and writing abilities.
• Age 30–45 years.
• Knowledge of road traffic regulations within RLIC.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and SOPs.
• Maintain and document trailer maintenance before each shift.
• Inspect chains, slings, ropes, cables, hooks and lifting gear for flaws and report defects.
• Check load security and balance and verify trailer brakes before trips.
• Ensure lifting equipment brakes function properly when lifting loads.
• Follow signals from the signalman during loading/unloading.
• Keep loading/unloading area clear of hazards before trips.
• Ensure safe and timely delivery of goods.
• Stop the trailer immediately if unsafe to continue.
• Inform all involved about loading/unloading activities.

Job description

Objectives: Drive and operate Heavy Vehicle Trailer. Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed. Load and unload cargo. Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times. General organizing and cleaning of the vehicle inside & outside and Yard parking area. Adherence to strict safety standards established by the Company.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring compliance with the safety standards and transportation department SOPs.
• The trailer driver shall ensure that the trailer that he is working with function correctly, properly maintained and that all maintenance activities are properly documented before commencing each shift, the trailer driver must perform the relevant checks to ensure that equipment is safe to continue the operation.
• Inspect chains, slings, ropes, cables, hooks and lifting gear for flaws and damage such as cracks, wear, corrosion, and report defects.
• When loading finished, check security and balance of the loads on the trailers flat bed and verify the function of the trailers brakes before starting the trip.
• When lifting a load, ensure it is well secured and the brakes function of the lifting equipment is working properly.
• With Third party Training certificate in Safe Driving.
• Must hold a Qatar Driving License and certificate of competence and previous experience in Oil & Gas / Logistic / Transportation sectors.
• Follow signals from assigned signalman when maneuvering the trailer into loading / offloading areas.
• Ensure that working area is clear of any unforeseen potential hazards before starting the trip.
• Ensuring the safe and timely delivery of goods.
• Immediately stop the trailer if it became unsafe to continue the trip.
• Keep all involved persons in the working area fully aware of the loading / unloading activity.
• Must have minimum secondary level of education.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions in the Safe Driving - Age between 30 and 45 years old - Able to speaks and writes in English. - Physically fit with good hearing and eyesight. Able to judge distances and work at heights. Should be fully conversant with recognized traffic signals and be aware for standard road regulation with specific knowledge of the road traffic regulation within RLIC .
• Must have Five (05) years’ experience in driving of heavy equipment trailer / truck of the similar capacity specified in contract.
