Job description

Focal point, responsible and accountable for the day-to-day decommissioning, deconstruct and abandon of department assigned offshore projects to ensure they are decommissioned in accordance with approved Scope of Work, approved drawings and methodologies and QatarEnergy standards, specifications, safety and Environmental requirements.

Act as an interface between Project Manager, Asset Holder, Contractor and Construction Supervisors. Provide guidance to construction supervisors and Contractor to ensure that all decommissioning activities are executed in accordance with approved method statements complying with project schedule, quality and HSE requirements.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing large-scale decommissioning projects, with strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

  1. Candidate should have a minimum of 15 years overall experience in construction engineering with at least 8 years in offshore Oil & Gas environment such as decommissioning and abandonment of Offshore Oil & Gas facilities.
  2. Proven track record in managing large-scale decommissioning projects, including experience with offshore jackets, topsides, subsea pipelines and umbilicals.
  3. Hands-on experience with offshore operations and decommissioning processes, including rigging, lifting and removal of heavy structures.
  4. Candidate must have robust experience in FEED and EPRD projects with strong capability to review/approve contractor deliverables.
  5. Computer literate. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Excellent command of English Language (oral and written).
  7. Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
  8. Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
  9. Ability to supervise a multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforce.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field. Advance degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CEng) would be an advantage.
