Overview

A Qatar Family Holding Group of Companies is looking to hire a Head of Purchasing that will manage and lead local operations and support business performance goals through effective supplier management, contract compliance, cost savings, and risk mitigation. The role, based in Doha, Qatar will align purchasing strategies with company wide procurement objectives to optimise local supplier relationships and secure competitive advantages.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all local purchasing activities across a diverse family owned group of companies and its subsidiaries.
  • Develop and implement effective purchasing policies, strategies and procedures to ensure alignment with the business goals related to pricing, quality and timely delivery.
  • Evaluate and manage supply chain risks and opportunities, lead negotiations with key local suppliers and manage strategic relationships.
  • Ensure supplier compliance with contractual obligations, service levels and delivery terms.
  • Own and update purchasing policies, documentation and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the procurement budgets and support business strategies.
  • Mentor and lead a team of procurement officers to achieve departmental KPI’s, whilst continuously improving local procurement processes for efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors or masters degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 7 years of experience in procurement with a focus on local purchasing for a large holding or multi-sector organisation.
  • Deep understanding of procurement laws in Qatar/GCC with proficiency in ERP and procurement systems.
  • Strong analytical, leadership and vendor negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in English; Arabic language is preferred but not essential.
