Job summary

Employment is seeking a Senior Development Manager to lead engineering across a hybrid delivery model in Doha, Qatar. You will bridge onshore talent, offshore teams, and vendors while enforcing a unified, high-standard SDLC and data-driven delivery.

You will champion GitLab for code, pipelines, and project health, using metrics to drive performance and continuous improvement across multi-site teams.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with at least 3+ years in a senior leadership role managing multi-site or vendor-based teams.
• Deep expertise in GitLab workflows, including MR templates, CI/CD automation, and security/compliance features.
• Structured methodology with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and proven ability to tighten processes where ambiguity exists.
• Vendor governance through SLAs and technical audits.
• Excellent communication to translate complex roadmaps into actionable tasks for offshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Hybrid team leadership: manage local onshore developers and oversee offshore teams and vendors.
• Define and enforce a structured SDLC ensuring consistency across time zones.
• Act as primary technical contact for external partners, ensuring standards and security.
• Champion GitLab usage for version control, CI/CD, issue tracking, and resource planning.
• Implement and monitor KPIs (e.g., DORA metrics) to evaluate performance and delivery.
