The Head of Content will lead the development of high-quality, original content across English and Arabic for reports, articles, press releases, speeches, presentations, and digital platforms within the External Comms department at Qatar Foundation. This role involves defining editorial standards, overseeing content strategy, and ensuring alignment with institutional messaging.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of high-quality, original content across English and Arabic for reports, articles, press releases, speeches, presentations, and digital platforms.
- Define and enforce editorial standards, tone of voice, and style guidelines to ensure consistency across all communications.
- Oversee content strategy and editorial calendar planning across all communication channels.
- Supervise content review, editing, and approval processes to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with institutional messaging.
- Support media relations activities including drafting responses, coordinating media inquiries, and contributing to positive media coverage.
- Oversee preparation of leadership communications including speeches, letters, emails, and presentations for external stakeholders.
- Lead coordination of media interviews, briefings, and speaking engagements, including speechwriting and talking points development.
- Oversee content development for the website, social media platforms, and other digital communication channels.
- Support design, drafting, and editing of annual reports and key institutional publications.
- Monitor media coverage and communications trends, maintaining records and insights for reporting and strategy development.
- Support planning and coordination of events, workshops, and conferences from a content and communications perspective.
- Identify and develop strategic speaking opportunities for leadership and support related content preparation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure integrated and aligned messaging across programs, research, and engagement activities.
- Ensure content supports the Center’s mission, enhances visibility, and strengthens public positioning.
- Other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Experience Required:
- 6-8 years of progressive experience in content development, editorial management, communications, journalism, or corporate communications, including at least 2 years in a senior or managerial role.
- Proven experience in leading end-to-end content strategy, editorial planning, and multi-channel content production (print, digital, and social media).
- Strong experience in drafting, editing, and overseeing high-level bilingual content (English and Arabic), including speeches, reports, and institutional publications.
- Experience working with senior leadership on executive communications and public-facing messaging.
- Strong media awareness with experience supporting media relations, press communications, and reputational content.
Education Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, Marketing, English, Arabic Studies, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is an advantage.
Skills Required:
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, impactful messaging for diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of branding, tone of voice, editorial standards, and integrated communications strategies.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office.
- Proficiency in content management systems.
- Familiarity with digital publishing tools, social media platforms, and basic analytics tools is an advantage.
Languages:
Fluency in English; Arabic is highly desirable.
