Job summary

A leading company in Qatar is seeking an experienced Head of Construction to manage fabrication and offshore projects in a senior supervisory role. The ideal candidate will have a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, extensive supervisory experience in brownfield modifications, and a proven track record in managing multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years overall experience in supervising fabrication yard and offshore construction management.
  • Must have robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects.

Job Description

  • Ensure Contractor execute the fabrication of brownfield structures in onshore and modification of existing Wellhead jackets in offshore in accordance with requirements.
  • Monitor, control and report Contractor s performance, man-power deployment, plant and equipment s movements, construction slippages etc.
  • Act as the Risk Management representative to identify Risk events related to brownfield modification in live assets and wellhead platforms, its effects & consequences, propose mitigation measures and take ownership to ensure mitigation measures have been implemented at site.
  • Liaise with senior discipline engineers, project engineers and other stake holders through all phases of the project for all construction related matters including inputs during the detailed engineering and procurement stages.
  • Review daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports for assigned projects and verify contractor s progress statements for accuracy.
  • Coordinate the MCC walk through, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities with contractor, vendors, and end users.
  • Maintain a daily record of progress noting special comments.
  • Reports to supervisor work anomalies or contractual deviations committed by contractor personnel and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, sub-contractors and vendors to offshore sites following the contract award.
  • Interact and interface with other contractors, projects, departments regularly to identify and resolve all construction related matters especially liaison with Production and Wellhead Maintenance departments.
  • Participate weekly and monthly HSE walkthrough and monthly HSE audits.
  • Support in development of new standards, specification, guidelines etc and support enhancement of existing corporate documents.
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering discipline from a recognized University (or) Petroleum Engineering discipline or equivalent plus relevant courses in Safety, Quality Control and Construction.
  • Candidate should have a minimum of 15 years overall experience in supervising fabrication yard and offshore construction management/brownfield modification of live production facilities, wellhead platforms etc. including review and approval of EPIC contractor deliverables.
  • Candidate must have robust experience in FEED and EPIC projects with strong capability to review/approve contractor deliverables.
  • Computer literate. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent command of English Language (oral and written)
  • Excellent knowledge of industry engineering standards, quality control, safety and environmental awareness.
  • Excellent ability to interpret and review method statements, inspection and test plans, construction schedules and drawings.
  • Ability to highlight potential bottlenecks/problems and ability to suggest solutions.
  • Ability to supervise a multi-national and multi-cultural contractor workforce.
