Advanced Search in Doha, Qatar seeks a Public Markets Research Analyst to lead research on US and global equities for a private family office. You will blend fundamental analysis with quantitative methods and perform due diligence on fund vehicles.

The role emphasizes lean, principal-led decision making, strong modeling, and clear investment notes for the principal; requires 3+ years in equity research and English fluency. Experience with Bloomberg/Capital IQ and structured products is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field (Masters preferred).
• CFA Charter strongly preferred (or Level II/III passed).
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in equity research, portfolio management, or quantitative investing.
• Hedge fund/asset manager/institutional equities experience is a plus.
• Strong financial modeling and valuation skills.
• Knowledge of fund ecosystem (mutual funds, ETFs, hedge funds) and due diligence.
• Advanced Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg/Capital IQ/FactSet/Visible Alpha.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

Responsabilités

• Conduct fundamental and quantitative research on US and global equities.
• Maintain a coverage list / idea pipeline.
• Build and maintain financial models—DCF, comparables, scenario analyses—for securities and sectors.
• Apply factor screening, backtesting, mean-variance portfolio optimization for security selection.
• Track third‑party fund vehicles (ETFs, mutual funds, hedge funds) and perform basic due diligence.
• Monitor macro developments and translate them into actionable views.
• Prepare investment notes, memos, and recommendations for the principal.
• Monitor portfolio performance, attribution, and risk against benchmarks.
• Use data platforms (Bloomberg, Capital IQ, FactSet, Visible Alpha) for data gathering.
• Present findings clearly to a non-analyst principal audience.
