KEO Group is seeking a skilled GIS Engineer based in Doha, Qatar, to support asset management and infrastructure projects. You will develop and maintain GIS data, analyses, and applications to enable informed planning and decision-making.

The role requires 10+ years in GIS or Geospatial Engineering, a Bachelor's in Engineering or related field, and strong experience with ESRI ArcGIS, SQL, and web-based GIS solutions. Collaboration with internal teams is essential.

  • Demonstrated expertise in GIS database management, spatial analysis, SQL development, and ESRI-based GIS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain GIS databases, spatial data, and online GIS applications to support operations and projects.
  • Develop GIS tools, spatial databases, and SQL-based solutions to improve data management and reporting.
  • Produce maps, geo-spatial reports, and analytical outputs for asset management and planning.
  • Review engineering drawings and site data, identify data discrepancies, and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to provide GIS expertise and spatial information to support business objectives.

Responsibilities

Our newest opportunity is for a talented GIS Engineer, seconded to our Client from government sector in Doha, Qatar.

You will be supporting the delivery of asset management and infrastructure projects by developing, maintaining, and analysing GIS data, applications, and spatial information to enable informed operational planning and decision-making.

We envisage success in this role to include;

  • Managing and maintaining GIS databases, spatial data, and online GIS applications to support operational and project requirements.
  • Developing GIS tools, spatial databases, and SQL-based solutions to improve data management, reporting, and business processes.
  • Collecting, validating, analysing, and maintaining spatial data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and quality.
  • Producing maps, geo-spatial reports, and analytical outputs to support asset management, operational planning, and decision-making.
  • Reviewing and interpreting as-built drawings, aerial imagery, maps, and technical documentation, identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
  • Conducting site visits and field inspections to verify spatial information and support data collection activities.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide GIS expertise and spatial information that supports business objectives.
  • Preparing technical documentation, maintaining GIS records, and adhering to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and workplace procedures.
Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10+ years of relevant experience, partnered with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated expertise in GIS database management, spatial analysis, SQL development, and ESRI-based GIS platforms is essential.

Furthermore, we would expect the following:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a similar GIS or Geospatial Engineering role.
  • Proven experience developing SQL scripts and managing spatial databases.
  • Strong working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and web-based GIS solutions, with experience in Microsoft C#.NET, Python, or VBA considered advantageous.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, managing asset information, and producing spatial analysis and GIS reporting.
  • Professional accreditation from a recognised GIS institute or relevant professional body would be advantageous.
  • A qualification or certification obtained in North America, Western Europe, or Australia would be preferred.
  • A valid Qatar driving licence would be advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.
