Overview
Operate ship-to-shore (STS) gantry cranes efficiently and safely for loading and unloading containers from vessels within the port terminal, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational procedures.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate ship-to-shore gantry cranes for loading and discharging containers from vessels in accordance with port operation schedules.
- Ensure precision in picking, moving, and placing containers to avoid damage to equipment or cargo.
- Monitor crane performance and report any malfunctions, defects, or safety concerns to the supervisor or maintenance team.
- Adhere to safety standards and operational procedures always during crane operation.
- Communicate effectively with ground personnel, vessel staff, and control room operators using radio or hand signals.
- Assist in basic troubleshooting of the crane and conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure machinery is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate operational records and reports as required by terminal management.
- Support in training junior operators or trainees as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 9years of hands-on experience operating gantry cranes in a busy container terminal environment .
- Valid Crane Operator certification / license recognized in Qatar or transferable.
- In-depth knowledge of crane operational procedures, safety regulations, and port protocols.
- Ability to work in shifts, including nights and weekends, based on port operations.
- Physically fit and alert, with strong hand-eye coordination.
- Familiar with modern port terminal operating systems (TOS) and container handling logistics is a plus.
- Good communication skills and team coordination abilities.
