Job summary

Mackinnon Mackenzie & Co of Pakistan is seeking a Field Operator for MSFE with a background in Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineering. The role requires 5 years in similar large-company settings, strong problem-solving, and hands-on experience in MSFE environments, including operational oversight and chemical balancing.

You will monitor MSFE units, manage start/stop procedures, maintain logs, and perform chemical analyses to ensure safe, efficient desalination processes.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform regular checks on MSFE systems, ensuring components function efficiently.
• Oversee initiation and shutdown of MSFE units per procedures to maximize output and minimize wear.
• Maintain detailed operation logs and equipment status reports.
• Manage chemical levels and analyses to meet safety and quality standards.
• Carry out regular sample analyses for process streams to monitor efficiency and quality.
• Follow departmental policies and SOPs to ensure controlled, consistent work.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainable practices.

Job description

Field Operator – MSFE

• Engineering related Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical or Chemical from a reputable Collage / university
• Demonstrated problem‑solving ability and analytical thinking skills.
• Good understanding of power/energy and water sectors, emerging trends and technologies.
• Proficiency in English (must) and Arabic (plus).
• Demonstrated hands‑on operational and implementation experience.
• Ability to work with key stakeholders, senior executives, management team and external partners/advisors through collaboration & teamwork.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Good understanding of Qatar and GCC culture and working environment

Department: Power Plant

Experience: 5 years of experience in similar roles in large companies.

Manage and optimize the performance of Multi-Stage Flash Evaporation (MSFE) units through regular system checks, operational oversight and maintenance of chemical balances, contributing to the effective and sustainable desalination process

Operational Management

• Perform regular checks on Multi-Stage Flash Evaporation systems, ensuring all components are functioning correctly and efficiently.
• Oversee the initiation and shutdown of MSFE units according to operational procedures to maximize output and minimize wear.
• Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all operational data, including ODG readings and equipment status reports.
• Manage chemical levels and preparations necessary for MSFE operations, conducting routine chemical analyses to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Carry out regular sample analysis for process streams within the MSFE to monitor system efficiency and output quality.

Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.

Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering global standards, productivity improvement and cost reduction.
