Job description

Job Title: Operations Manager

Experience Required:

  1. 20 years relevant experience in Fabrication Operations, Yard Management, and Construction of Offshore Oil and Gas projects.
  2. B. Sc. Engineering/ B. E. / B. Tech in Mechanical or Civil Engineering or Equivalent Experience level suitable for the role.
  3. Experience in Fabrication Operations, Engineering, Estimating, Project Management, Fabrication Budgeting, Workhours Scheduling and Forecasting, Commercials, Proposals, Tendering, Project Controls, HSES, QA/QC.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the production of work at services in the Fabrication Facility.
  2. Ensure the facility is running efficiently to meet the expectations and needs of the Projects and Client.
  3. Plan and direct all fabrication operations.
  4. Establish objectives, policies, and procedures covering all aspects and phases of fabrication in the facility.
  5. Actively participate in the process of bidding and winning work.
  6. Direct the process of scheduling and completing work in accordance with contractual requirements.
  7. Formulate financial plans and CAPEX requests for facility operations.
  8. Establish standards to measure operations performance relative to Safety, Quality, and Productivity.
  9. Provide leadership, support, commitment, and guidance for HSE&S, Quality, and Compliance.
  10. Ensure corporate policies and procedures are applied and followed by all personnel.
  11. Implement adequate controls for managing and accounting for Company assets and materials.
  12. Lead Safety operations through employee engagements and chair regular operations safety committee meetings.
  13. Conduct weekly assessments of fabrication progress, productivity, and resource allocation.
  14. Coordinate with Project Management teams for fabrication scope and deliverables.
  15. Control and monitor project fabrication budgets and identify cost improvement opportunities.
  16. Liaise with Marine Operation to ensure fabricated structures are loaded out for sail away.
  17. Manage overall functional resources for yard operation.
  18. Review yard equipment requirements and ensure availability.
  19. Develop competency and succession plans for critical yard employees.
  20. Manage accommodation camps and the health and wellbeing of employees.
  21. Oversee all aspects of day-to-day activities of the Fabrication Facility.
  22. Establish Yard manning plan and liaise with HR to meet requirements.
  23. Maintain the operational budget and Capex Schedule detailing milestones.
  24. Ensure work is performed productively and to approved specifications.
  25. Monitor fabrication personnel to ensure conformance to standards.
  26. Implement remedial action to recover any slippages in fabrication schedules.
  27. Ensure all Safety and Quality standards are understood and followed.
  28. Establish and meet training needs for fabrication personnel.
  29. Develop and monitor the annual operating budget, identify variances, and implement cost reduction strategies.
  30. Support and enforce the Compliance/Ethics program as outlined in the Corporate Code of Business Conduct.
  31. Maintain relations with Port and Coast Guard.
  32. Provide Bid Support as required.
