Job summary

QatarEnergy seeks an experienced Procurement/Expediting specialist to ensure on-time delivery of materials for Oil & Gas operations. The role involves frequent coordination with suppliers, contractors, manufacturers, freight forwarders, warehouse teams and internal buyers to meet critical shutdown and project timelines.

Responsibilities include reporting status, coordinating resolutions for non-conforming deliveries, and applying structured processes to optimize delivery performance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years’ experience in purchasing/expediting, preferably in Oil & Gas.
• Knowledge of technical specifications and international standards for equipment and materials, and related certifications.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English.
• Proficient in MS Office suite, especially Word and Excel; SAP knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of Incoterms and general import/export regulations.

Primary Purpose of the Job

Implement structured process to achieve on-time delivery of materials for Oil & Gas Operations. Frequently coordinates with suppliers/contractors, manufacturers, freight forwarders, warehouse personnel, buyers, MMDG, user departments etc., in meeting on-time delivery objective. Frequently take actions to achieve delivery improvement to meet emergencies, shutdowns and project schedules. First point of contract for coordination and reporting he status of shutdown related materials as well as obtaining resolutions against non-complaint materials (CNR) delivery.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in purchasing and or expediting, preferably in an Oil and Gas environment.
• Knowledge of technical specifications and international standards for equipment and materials and related certifications.
• Proficiency in verbal and written English skills is required.
• Proficient in MS Office suite, especially MS Word and MS Excel applications. Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Knowledge of unit of measure, INCOTERMS and general import/export regulations.

Educational Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Technical or Business Diploma, however, university degree is preferred.
