Job summary

Client of Aventus Global Talent is seeking a Junior Analyst in Qatar to identify and research investment opportunities. This role involves regular contact with portfolio companies and maintaining accurate databases regarding research and financial models.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of equity research experience, preferably in MENA/Emerging Markets, and possess strong quantitative skills. Travel is expected for this position, with the potential for 2-3 weeks annually.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Equity Research experience, preferably in MENA/Emerging Markets.
• Ability to build financial models to determine intrinsic value of investments.
• Identify and analyze investment opportunities in listed equities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research on investment opportunities for the Equity Team.
• Maintain an up-to-date database of research and stock information.
• Assist with team administration documentation.

Job description

The Junior Analyst will identify and conduct research on investment opportunities for recommendation to the Equity Team and discussion with the Sub-Investment Committee.

Travel: The Junior Analyst is expected to travel 2-3 weeks annually to meet with companies in the portfolio and identify new investment opportunities.

Company Contact: The Junior Analyst is expected to be in regular contact with companies in which the Firm has invested.

Database: The Junior Analyst has responsibility for ensuring the database of research is current for areas of primary responsibility. This includes stock specific information, notes, theses, financial models, ESG scorecards and any relevant market industry data.

Team Admin: Helping with the administration of documentation used by the team to fulfil its process and procedures as committed to clients.

Qualifications: Bachelor s degree ideally in Economics/Finance/Humanities; and/or working toward obtaining CFA. 3-5 years of Equity Research experience, some experience in MENA/ Emerging Markets preferred. Strong quantitative and analytical skills. Excellent communication skills. Detail-oriented and organized. Ability to work independently and on a team.
