Job summary

SmartConnect Qatar in Al-Khor, Qatar is seeking a Junior Librarian to support daily library operations and assist the Librarian with managing the collection and serving users.

You will help organize materials, assist with cataloging and circulation, provide basic reference help, and support programs to promote library resources. Fresh graduates are welcome; salary is 1400 USD per month, accommodation is not included, and visa sponsorship can be provided if needed. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field.
• Experience in a library is a plus but not required.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in computers and basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Assist in organizing and maintaining the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
• Help with cataloging and classifying new materials using standard library procedures
• Assist with circulation services, including checking materials in and out, placing holds, and collecting fines
• Provide basic reference services to library users, such as helping them locate materials or answering simple research questions
• Assist with planning and implementing programs and events to promote the use of the library's resources
• Help maintain a clean and orderly library environment by shelving books, tidying up work areas, and performing other tasks as needed
