Job summary

Swan Global is seeking an Engineering Support Engineer for LV and MV switchgear projects. You will prepare and review electrical schematics, coordinate with design teams, and ensure documentation complies with IEC standards and project specs.

Reporting to the Engineering/Project Manager, you will support technical queries, manage revisions, and help drive on-time delivery in a fast-paced oil, gas, and power environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years LV/MV switchgear experience.
• Hands-on experience with electrical schematic design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and EPLAN.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings for LV and MV switchgear.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with IEC standards and project specifications.
• Maintain document control, version management, and revision tracking.
• Provide technical support to Project Managers for design- and engineering-related queries.
• Coordinate with internal design teams, manufacturing facilities, and external suppliers for clarifications and approvals.
• Ensure deliverables comply with IEC, IEEE and local regulations; support quality checks and audits.
• Track progress and report status, risks, and deviations to stakeholders.
• Use AutoCAD/EPLAN and PLM systems for documentation.

Job Title: Engineering Support Engineer(for LV & MV Switchgear Projects)

Contract Type: 12 Months (Extendable)
Working Schedule: 6 Days per Week | 10 Hours per Day

Work Location: Ras Laffan / Doha

Role Purpose

The Engineering Support professional will provide technical and documentation support for Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear projects. The role focuses on preparation, review, and coordination of electrical schematics and related engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and interconnection drawings for LV and MV switchgear.

Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of engineering documents with IEC standards and project specifications.

Maintain proper document control, version management, and revision tracking.

Technical Support

Provide technical support to Project Managers for resolving design- and engineering-related queries.

Coordinate with internal design teams, manufacturing facilities, and external suppliers for technical clarifications and approvals.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with relevant standards (IEC, IEEE, and applicable local regulations).

Support internal quality checks, audits, and compliance reviews related to engineering documentation.

Project Coordination

Work closely with Sales, Project Management, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure timely completion of engineering deliverables.

Track engineering progress and report status, risks, and deviations to relevant stakeholders.

Tools & Systems

Use engineering software such as AutoCAD, EPLAN, or equivalent tools for schematic preparation and review.

Maintain documentation in PLM or similar document management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification.

Experience

2 to 5 years of experience in LV/MV switchgear engineering or a related field.

Proven hands-on experience in electrical schematic design and engineering documentation.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in AutoCAD, EPLAN, or similar electrical design tools.

Strong knowledge of IEC standards related to LV/MV switchgear and protection systems.

Understanding of switchgear design, testing, and integration processes.

Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.

Effective communication and coordination skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Familiarity with Siemens NXAIR or similar MV switchgear systems.

Experience in project execution within the Oil & Gas, Power, or Energy sectors.
