Job summary

LA International Workforce Solutions is seeking an Engineering Lead to oversee Instrumentation, Process, or Piping disciplines in Qatar on major Oil & Gas projects. You will drive FEED, EPC, commissioning, and startup activities while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and contractors.

The role requires strong engineering leadership, international standards knowledge, and track record in large energy facilities. Onshore Qatar deployment with a long-term contract.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years in engineering with at least 4 years in Oil & Gas.
• Experience leading contractors, vendors and project teams.
• Strong FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead discipline engineering activities through FEED, EPC, commissioning and startup.
• Coordinate engineering deliverables with multidisciplinary project teams and contractors.
• Review and approve engineering designs, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with international engineering standards, industry codes, and project requirements.
• Support project planning, risk management, and technical decision-making activities.

Position Summary

LA International Workforce Solutions is recruiting experienced Engineering Leads to support major Oil & Gas and Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) projects in Qatar. These leadership positions offer the opportunity to work on large-scale FEED, EPC, commissioning, and operational projects while providing technical oversight, engineering coordination, and project execution expertise.

Detailed Job Description

The successful candidates will provide discipline leadership across Instrumentation, Process, or Piping Engineering activities supporting the design, development, and execution of complex Oil & Gas facilities. Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will contribute to FEED studies, detailed engineering design, commissioning, startup, and operational support. These roles require strong technical expertise, project coordination capabilities, and a thorough understanding of industry standards, engineering specifications, and best practices. Successful applicants will play a critical role in ensuring engineering excellence, safety compliance, and project delivery across high-value energy sector investments.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
• Minimum 8 years of engineering experience with at least 4 years in the Oil & Gas industry
• Experience leading, supervising, or overseeing contractors, vendors, and subcontractors
• Strong knowledge of FEED, EPC, and detailed engineering project execution
• Experience working on NGL, Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon processing, or energy infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of international engineering standards, specifications, and codes
• Proven ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams
• Experience supporting commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities

Instrumentation Engineering Lead Requirements

• Experience with Instrumentation, Control Systems, and Telecommunication Engineering
• Basic knowledge of Hexagon Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI)
• Experience with DCS (Distributed Control System), ESD (Emergency Shutdown System), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), Fire & Gas Systems, Fibre Optic, and Radio Communication Systems
• Experience coordinating Instrumentation, Control, and Telecommunication engineering activities during FEED and detailed engineering phases
• Experience troubleshooting instrumentation and control system issues within Oil & Gas facilities

Process Engineering Lead Requirements

• Specialist-level Process Engineering experience within Oil & Gas and NGL projects
• Strong knowledge of NGL process design and engineering execution
• Experience with offshore facilities design, construction, and operations
• FEED and EPC detailed design experience involving large utility systems and inlet facilities
• Strong understanding of process safety criteria, engineering design standards, and operational requirements

Piping Engineering Lead Requirements

• Senior-level Piping and Layout Engineering experience
• Basic knowledge of 3D modelling software including PDS and SmartPlant 3D (SP3D)
• Extensive experience in piping layouts, engineering design standards, and facility construction
• FEED and EPC detailed design experience for large utility systems and inlet facilities
• Strong understanding of piping design, offshore facilities, and engineering execution best practices

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience on major LNG, NGL, or gas processing projects
• Knowledge of digital engineering and integrated engineering platforms
• Experience in brownfield facility modifications and upgrades
• Previous Middle East Oil & Gas project experience
• Professional Engineering certification or chartered status
