Job summary

A leading company in the oil and gas sector in Qatar is seeking an Electrician Technician with at least 5 years of experience in maintenance within petrochemical plants. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of electrical systems, safety standards, and practical maintenance abilities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical circuits, conducting maintenance on equipment, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols in a team-oriented environment. Strong communication skills and familiarity with SAP PM are advantageous for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years work experience in maintenance in refinery or petrochemical plant.
• Proficient in electrical schematic diagrams and troubleshooting.
• Familiar with plant safety standards and emergency generator systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow maintenance procedures and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and perform repairs up to 132 KV.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and assist in training subordinates.

Job description

ASIAPOWER OFFICE TIMING: 10.00 AM TO 6.30 PM (MONDAY TO SATURDAY)
Minimum Qualifications
-Diploma or equivalent or Trade certificate in any engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
-Middle east/Gulf experience will be an added advantage/preferences
-Proficiency in English Language (Speak, Read and Write)
-Understand and follow plant safety standards and procedures.
-Able to write and express ideas, instructions and procedures.
-Familiarization in use of SAP PM.
Minimum Work Experience
-At least 5 years work experience in refinery or petrochemical Oil and Gas plant in maintenance field.
-Should possess strong practical experience in multi-craft maintenance activities.
-Should have maintenance knowledge in all type of Electrical equipments & Switchgears and / or commissioning, and start-up activities.
-Should have good working experience on troubleshooting of switchgear, motor, and transformer circuit.
-Able to understand electrical single line and schematic diagram.
-Be conversant with petrochemical plant safety standards and practices. Understanding of the hazards involved in the industry.
-Should have working experience emergency generator
-Should have working experience on UPS system.
-Acquaintance with the materials and equipment s in the oil and gas industry
-Knowledge in the ware house functions like intending, standardizing, inventory control etc.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the team.
Job Requirements (but not limited to)
-Follow plant safety standards and procedures. Be familiar with typical petrochemical plant safety hazards.
-Follow standard maintenance procedures.
-Follow manufacturer's troubleshooting and maintenance procedures. Correctly use and care for test and calibration equipment.
-Implement good housekeeping practices.
-Use standard instruments to measure voltage, amperage, speed, rotation and vibration.
-Troubleshoot and repair ground faults.
-Repair electrical motors up to 500 HP including replacement of bearings and seals, installation of motor and connection of starters and circuits.
-Maintenance of battery standby systems (UPS) and inverters.
-Able to read schematic diagrams and support troubleshooting on UPS system
-Read electrical schematic diagram for switchgear up to 132 KV, relay logic and schematic drawings and use these to troubleshoot and repair circuits.
-Able read the schematic diagram for motor and transformer feeder.
-Able to support the troubleshooting on emergency generator
-Installation of conduit, enclosures, wiring, connections and controls up to 480 V for new construction.
-Repair and maintain cathodic protection systems, Overhead cranes, Automatic Overhead Doors and other electrically operated equipment.
-Read and interpret schematics for power distribution systems up to 33 KV including repair and Maintenance of 10 MVA transformers.
-Work at elevated heights.
-In addition to his normal jobs, he should assist and participate in other maintenance activities.
-Carry out established Preventive Maintenance procedures on electrical equipment.
-Write reports, complete forms and mark up drawings and other documentation.
-Safe and proper care of tools
-Work as a team with operations, technical, and maintenance.
-Improve instrument reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
-Participate in company safety and training programs.
-Train Subordinates & co workers. Report on work progress & maintenance activities.
