QA/QC INSPECTOR (ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION)
- Assist construction personnel in developing quality documentation, including method statements, work procedures, inspection and test plans, and records.
- Help identify problems and nonconformances, proposing corrective actions.
- Perform and monitor technical inspections during Site/Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) for electrical components such as transformers, switchgears, cables, MCCs, PLCs, and panels.
- Coordinate with Field Supervisors and Contractors to ensure SATs and E&I tests are planned and executed properly.
- Implement QC activities for electrical and instrumentation works onsite.
- Review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and RFIs.
- Inspect received materials and verify installation compliance with drawings and red-line markups.
- Experience in cable laying standards, punch list creation, and electrical commissioning, including loop checking.
- Assist in reviewing routine test reports, quality documentation, and inspection of delivered electrical/instrumentation materials for conformity.
- Monitor E&I site activities such as substation grounding system installation and measurements, ensuring adherence to Quality Procedures.
- Ensure all activities comply with project requirements, and tests and reports are properly documented.
- Witness site and laboratory tests related to electrical and instrumentation activities.
- Check that materials and equipment meet specifications, conduct random receiving inspections, and verify documentation.
- Reject non-conforming materials and follow up on corrective actions.
- Monitor non-compliance trends and report contractor performance.
- Initiate Surveillance NCRs/CARs for approval.
- Assist in conducting quality audits for contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party labs.
Desired Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical/Electronic & Instrumentation with experience in quality control in construction and commissioning environments.
- Formal training in QC/QMS and membership with recognized professional institutions preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role, GCC experience is desirable.
- At least 5 years of direct inspection/execution experience, preferably as a client QC inspector.
- Strong knowledge of QC aspects, inspection, and testing related to electrical and instrumentation equipment in oil/gas, petrochemical, and civil projects.
- Ability to work well with diverse teams in multidisciplinary, multicultural settings.
- Thorough knowledge of relevant standards such as NEC/NFPA 70, IEC, IEEE.
- Working knowledge of electrical installations, materials, methods, and hazardous location identification.
- Certification in ISO-9001 auditing or equivalent, with sound judgment against standard criteria.
