Job Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing inventory management, defining departmental strategies for inventory levels, eliminating obsolete and off-spec materials, and reducing aging inventory. This role manages resource distribution and allocation across the organization under the guidance of the Operations Manager for all company projects. It also oversees all logistics related to warehouse functions, including transportation, supply delivery, and coordination with shipping, freight forwarding agencies, and customs authorities.

Job Responsibilities 1
  1. Create and implement best practice logistics principles, policies, and processes to enhance operational and financial performance.
  2. Ensure accuracy and timeliness of inventory transactions and physical movement of materials from receipt to distribution.
  3. Develop tools and methodologies for effective logistics plan implementation, including standard operating procedures.
  4. Contribute to the development and execution of logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to improve operational performance.
  5. Manage logistics operations by liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, logistics providers, transportation companies, and customers.
  6. Provide solutions to logistics challenges while maintaining quality and service within budget.
  7. Resolve issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, or customer concerns.
  8. Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  9. Maintain inventory accuracy and oversee stock movements with direct reports.
  10. Address inventory discrepancies and ensure records are accurate and consistent.
  11. Analyze data, interpret trends, and provide logistics insights to support organizational decision-making.

Job Knowledge & Skills
  • Deep understanding of logistics principles including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and supply chain optimization.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to oversee operations and coordinate with internal and external partners.
  • Excellent organizational skills for planning, route optimization, and timely delivery.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems for tracking, inventory management, and data analysis.
  • Problem-solving skills to address logistical challenges and improve efficiency.
  • ERP knowledge, preferably SAP, is required.
Job Experience
