Key Responsibilities
- Implement fire protection programs in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.
- Maintain a safe workplace, ensuring safety is the highest priority.
- Comply with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) requirements and goals.
- Provide necessary documentation to relevant divisions to ensure legal and adequate record-keeping.
- Train subordinate employees on EHS and QA requirements and ensure understanding.
- Conduct fire inspections, ensure facility safety, and record/document findings.
- Operate computerized digital fire alarm receiving equipment and two-way radios.
- Support fire department logistics, including equipment accountability, maintenance scheduling, and administrative duties.
- Ensure emergency equipment is operational and ready per NFPA or industry standards.
- Respond to emergencies, disasters, and HAZMAT spills following department procedures.
- Lead teams in rescue, fire suppression, or emergency response roles.
- Enter hazardous environments to perform rescues or fight fires while wearing PPE.
- Supervise firefighting operations and maintain PPE and equipment cleanliness.
- Support organizational metrics through training, documentation, and data tracking.
- Attend meetings and communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate Degree in Fire Science preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain host nation Driver’s License and Heavy Driver’s License.
- Fire Service Certifications: Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Hazmat Operations, Hazmat Incident Commander, Driver Operator – Pumper (per DOD 6055.06–M).
- 5 years of experience in an organized Fire or Emergency Service Department.
Preferred Certifications:
- Airport Firefighter, HazMat Technician, EMR, EMT, Driver Operator – ARFF.
Program Specific Requirements:
- Extensive firefighting and emergency service experience.
- Ability to supervise a diverse, multinational workforce.
- Knowledge of safety and environmental issues.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems.
