Our work depends on Telephone Technician II joining our team to perform intermediate hands-on work in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting/maintenance of telecommunications systems.
Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M, SPIN-C, or individual task order.
Intermediate hands-on work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of telecommunications systems or equipment. Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment.
Intermediate experience in maintenance/troubleshooting telecommunications equipment as specified in the specified task order to include the following:
Performs installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications systems.
Installs, removes, maintains, modifies, troubleshoots, and repairs telecommunication equipment. This includes running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing routers, switches, multiplexors, cable trays.
Provides reports, completes requests for new service, and determines methodology for installing telephone service or other telecommunication technology.
Under direct supervision, determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications including call switches, test trunks, and test links, and installs communication circuits.
Responds to emergency calls in the event of a system failure.
Makes major precision adjustments on switches, relays, and other electrical control devices for maximum operating efficiency.
Verifies services by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; and identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
