Job description

Minimum Qualifications:

• Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering

Minimum Experience:

• Minimum 05 - 07 years of experience in the integrated steel plant/oil and gas industry.
• Attend to fire incidents and work as part of the fire crew, under the direction of the Fire Leader, to extinguish fires and make areas safe.
• Demonstrate competency in the use of ladders, hoses, extinguishers, hand and power tools and deploy them as directed to tackle fires and make areas safe.
• Demonstrate competency in rescue the injured person from Work at Height, confined space etc.
• Carry out on site checks and inspections of work areas, fire safety equipment and materials and report incidences of non-compliance with fire safety procedures, to ensure that fire prevention procedures are rigorously followed across the QS Site.
• Take part in fire drills and practices to ensure knowledge and skills are up to date and readily deployed in the event of an emergency.
• Check, clean and maintain tools and equipment on an ongoing basis to ensure that they are always fit for purpose and ready for use.
• Understand fully fire alarm systems in operation and adhere to establish test and operational procedures.
• Operate fire department communication systems to communicate with other fire personnel on site.
• Liaise with police/fire/ambulance or customs personnel effectively in an emergency
