Job description

In addition to the inspection, testing, and qualification, repair, and maintenance of field tools, the R&M Technician role performs preventive and corrective maintenance, retrofit, and upgrade for Liner Hanger equipment. The role executes these tasks using company guidelines, technical work instructions, test procedures, schematics, engineering notices, and best practices under the supervision of a senior R&M Specialist, Lead Specialist, or Supervisor.


Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and report issues promptly using appropriate tools.
  2. Maintain equipment, facilities, and work area in a presentable and safe condition.
  3. Repair machines, equipment, or structures using tools like hammers, hoists, cranes, drills, wrenches, or testing devices such as precision measuring instruments or electrical/electronic testers.
  4. Assemble, install, or repair liner hanger equipment and bucking units.
  5. Inspect used parts to determine dimensional changes using rules, calipers, micrometers, or other measuring instruments.
  6. Assist, perform, and potentially lead troubleshooting, scheduled preventive maintenance, and modifications on liner hanger equipment, including data acquisition systems, to identify failure causes and perform corrective actions following company policies and procedures.
  7. Assist, perform, and potentially lead testing and calibration of tools following documented policies and procedures based on training and competence levels.
  8. Identify opportunities for improvement regarding equipment, procedures, and documentation.
  9. Complete Work Orders, AIRTs, PFTs, forms, checklists, repair requests, and maintain relevant databases accurately.
  10. Accurately log work hours in the WO labor time tracking system.
  11. Order parts, supplies, or equipment from catalogs or approved suppliers following Weatherford guidelines and procedures.
  12. Support and comply with LEAN initiatives and participate in continuous efficiency improvement programs.
  13. Estimate costs for repairing machinery, equipment, or structures.
  14. Perform other duties and activities safely as assigned by the supervisor within physical job constraints.
Minimum Requirements:

  • 4-10 years of liner hanger experience.
  • Repair & Maintenance experience.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
