NES Qatar - Head of Technical Training

NES Qatar is seeking a Head of Technical Training for its oil and gas client based in Qatar. This is a direct hire position.

Role Overview: The primary responsibility is to oversee the design, development, and delivery of technical training and competency interventions to enhance capabilities within the Operations Group assets, including Onshore/Offshore Refineries, Terminals, and Maintenance personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement training plans and processes aligned with departmental objectives for individual learning, training, and staff technical competencies.
2. Identify training needs and competency requirements based on company directives and facility changes; coordinate with Asset and Division Managers, Division Heads, Shift Supervisors, Engineers, and Line Supervisors to ensure training meets competency standards and certification requirements.
3. Enhance technical core competencies of the workforce and maintain Operations Competency Assurance processes.
4. Assess and coordinate training needs for Onshore assets, including Maintenance, Terminal, Refinery, and Offshore facilities, developing classroom, vendor, and simulator training programs.
5. Plan and execute all Operations simulator upgrades and develop new models to meet project requirements for staff readiness and facility modifications.

Must Have Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in Oil and Gas industry procedures development, including at least 3 years in Training Supervisory roles
• Experience in training and competency development
• Experience with Simulator development and training of Boardroom operators
