Workshops Planning Assistant - Technical Engineering

Location: Doha, Qatar

Qatar Airways is seeking a Workshops Planning Assistant to support the execution and coordination of scheduled and unscheduled component maintenance activities. This role involves preparing technical documentation, tracking component workflows, and coordinating with multiple departments to ensure the timely processing of aircraft components at Qatar Airways' maintenance workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare workshop packages including work orders, control sheets, and technical documents.
  2. Retrieve maintenance history, deferred defects, and engineering orders from the TRAX system.
  3. Close completed work packages and update TRAX records accordingly.
  4. Follow up with supply chain teams for parts under external repair or special processing.
  5. Track the availability of tools, materials, and consumables to prevent task delays.
  6. Coordinate with internal workshops to ensure timely handovers and inter-departmental task completion.
  7. Support technical records transmittal and documentation archiving for completed components.
  8. Assist in planning execution and escalation of component tasks as directed by the Planning Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

Education:
  • High school diploma or vocational qualification with minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
Experience and Skills:
  • Solid understanding of aircraft workshop operations and MRO software (TRAX preferred).
  • Ability to extract data from technical manuals such as CMM, SRM, AMM, SB, and AD.
  • Familiarity with aircraft maintenance regulations and documentation standards.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support workshop productivity.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to handle high-pressure operational environments.
  • Experience in general shop equipment maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
