Job description

Job Description: Head of Expediting and Logistics

Design and execute a high-impact expediting and logistics strategy aligned with corporate objectives to ensure a risk-resilient supply chain for high-complexity LNG production and offshore operations.

  • Lead international supplier performance governance, overseeing KPI adherence, contract compliance, and contingency planning for key vendors across North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
  • Develop and manage a corporate-wide Supply Chain Control Tower for real-time global visibility into freight movements, vendor performance, risk exposure, and compliance monitoring.
  • Steward high-stakes negotiations with port authorities, customs regulators, and government bodies to ensure seamless cross-border logistics while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Establish and enforce vendor Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for time-critical deliveries, integrating AI-based contract compliance and penalty enforcement mechanisms for delays.
  • Oversee logistics of ultra-heavy and specialized cargo movements, requiring custom chartering, route surveys, and regulatory approvals for high-value, oversized LNG equipment.
  • Spearhead a fully digital expediting framework, automating routine functions, integrating machine learning for prioritization, and leveraging robotic process automation (RPA) to optimize workflows.
  • Manage organization-wide cost-saving initiatives by negotiating preferential logistics rates through volume-based contracts, long-term freight alliances, and supplier collaboration programs.
  • Lead a high-performance logistics and expediting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and leadership development.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, customs requirements, and authority guidelines to ensure compliance and seamless operations.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives within logistics, focusing on reducing carbon emissions, optimizing fuel efficiency, and implementing green logistics practices.
  • Develop and implement advanced risk management frameworks to proactively identify and mitigate potential supply chain disruptions.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Commercial disciplines, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 3 years in a supervisory role involving purchasing/procurement.
  • Knowledge of government relations and industry best practices.
  • Extensive experience in expediting and logistics management, including handling numerous shipments and managing freight forwarder contracts.
  • Deep knowledge of customs laws and regulations.
  • Strong control mindset, change management skills, and business improvement expertise.
  • Proficiency in buying, customs/expediting, supply chain processes, and contract management.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
