Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Interface & Risk Coordinator to support a major Oil & Gas project in Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing technical interfaces between multiple contractors and existing facilities, and for developing and maintaining a comprehensive risk management plan throughout project execution.
This role requires strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills, alongside proven expertise in managing complex interface and risk issues on large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate interfaces between internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and timely resolution of issues.
- Manage technical interfaces across contractors, existing facilities, and project phases in coordination with EPIC contractors, engineering leads, project managers, and third-party representatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Interface Management Systems (IMS) and control procedures in collaboration with project teams.
- Identify interface gaps or issues related to scope of work changes and communicate them proactively.
- Oversee interface coordination in complex onshore/offshore brownfield and greenfield projects.
- Develop and maintain a tailored risk and opportunity management plan and comprehensive risk register with assigned owners.
- Ensure risk categorisation, prioritisation, and mitigation actions are tracked and reported.
- Chair monthly risk review sessions with project leadership to monitor risk status and effectiveness of mitigation plans.
- Facilitate Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) reviews, build risk models, and generate cost and schedule contingency reports.
- Ensure compliance with company risk management procedures and maintain an effective audit trail for risk documentation.
- Provide independent decision-making authority to manage and resolve interface and risk issues promptly.
- Manage conflicts and challenges arising within a multicultural and multidisciplinary workforce.
- Support offshore and onshore activities during engineering, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive project information.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (B.Sc. or B.Eng.) from a recognised university; higher degrees preferred.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major Oil & Gas projects.
- At least 7 years' experience in project management/interface leadership roles on large or mega Oil & Gas projects.
- Proven track record in developing and leading effective interface management organisations.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices, company systems, processes, and standards.
- Excellent judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to manage complex and diverse project requirements.
- Strong leadership, team building, communication, conflict resolution, and presentation skills.
