Role Objective:



The incumbent will be responsible for the effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software, as well as the related network and security infrastructure. The job holder will participate in technical research and development to drive continuous innovation within the network and security domain, ensuring that hardware, operating systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards. The role will also assist project teams with technical issues during the initiation and planning phases, and ensure the successful execution of network and security-related projects.

Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:

Operational Responsibilities:

• Administer and manage the organization's network infrastructure to ensure uninterrupted availability for business operations.
  
• Ensure that the network maintains maximum uptime, providing fast and reliable connectivity for all sites.
  
• Possess strong technical knowledge of network and security infrastructure, with excellent written communication and problem-solving abilities.
  
• Collaborate closely with Network Technicians to provide day-to-day operational support and issue resolution.
  
• Install and configure network and security appliances according to project and operational requirements.
  
• Update and maintain technical documentation for network and security infrastructure.
  
• Develop and maintain installation procedures, SOPs, and MOPs for major change requests.
  
• Diagnose and resolve network-related incidents and problems.
  
• Assist IT management with planning and budgeting for network and security infrastructure.
  
• Contribute to capacity planning, configuration management, change management, and release management.
  
• Handle escalation of support issues per defined procedures.
  
• Research and recommend innovative and automated approaches for network administration tasks, leveraging available resources.
  
• Perform daily monitoring to ensure the integrity and availability of critical hardware and processes.
  
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating with impacted stakeholders.
  
• Manage and update network and security assets and configuration items.
  
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization.
  
• Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
  
• Apply security standards to cloud infrastructure.
  
• Manage migration, cleanup, and decommissioning of legacy network environments.
  
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
  
• Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  
• Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting for issue resolution.
  
• Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure successful changes to the network infrastructure.
  
• Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the security team.
  
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
  
• Maintain high standards of confidentiality, professional conduct, ethics, and integrity in service delivery.
  
• Follow audit, compliance, and procedural controls set by management.
  

Requirements

Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline from a recognized university.
  
• Master's degree in Management or a related discipline is a plus.
  

Experience:

• 6-10 years of total experience, preferably within the financial services or related industry, with specific experience in network and security administration.
  
• Extensive experience managing, troubleshooting, installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks to ensure network availability and security.
  
• Significant experience in capacity management and planning for procuring network equipment (routers, switches) to optimize IT infrastructure.
  
• Experience integrating and supporting various systems and services hosted on Windows platforms.
  
• Demonstrated experience in implementing and migrating large-scale production-critical environments.
  
• Experience working with SOC platforms like LogRhythm.
  
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools like Cisco Prime.
  
• Proven expertise in network engineering and security.
  
• Product experience with Cisco Nexus series, Cisco Catalyst series, Cisco ASR, Cisco ISR, Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime, Cisco WLC, F5, Forcepoint, and other network security tools.
