As a Beach Guru, you are responsible for ensuring that all Beach & Recreational area activities are completed in a timely and effective way, and your position will include key responsibilities such as:
- Follow all guidelines of the Recreation Department operational SOPs and task lists as provided.
- Organize, clean, and maintain the entire Recreation Area and back offices.
- Carry out daily cleaning of the facility, plus weekly and monthly tasks as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Manager.
- Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and secured when not in use.
- Manage towels by taking them to and from laundry, ensuring an adequate operational stock at all times.
- Perform other duties as required by management, such as lateral service in other parts of the hotel and overnight cleaning.
- Ensure excellent customer service and professional behavior at all times, both on and off duty.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company and department policies and procedures.
- Set up workstations with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
- Focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous, and responding to requests promptly and courteously.
- Have a full understanding of the Recreation activities and events.
Services
- Provide amenities services to club and hotel guests as outlined in SOP or as directed by supervisor.
- Ensure amenities are always available for guests.
Other Duties
- Perform all tasks as detailed in daily task and checklist.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the Recreation facilities and activities.
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the work area at all times.
- Participate in work-related project teams.
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments.
- Have complete knowledge of the hotel’s products and services, especially sports and leisure activities and equipment.
- Follow proper accounting procedures when collecting fees for Recreation services.
- Be prepared to assume other Recreation duties or responsibilities as requested by management.
- Drive revenues for the department.
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience in the hotel industry in a similar role.
- Pleasing personality and a focused individual.
- Ability to handle work pressure and multi-task.
- Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
