Job description

As a Beach Guru, you are responsible for ensuring that all Beach & Recreational area activities are completed in a timely and effective way, and your position will include key responsibilities such as:

  1. Follow all guidelines of the Recreation Department operational SOPs and task lists as provided.
  2. Organize, clean, and maintain the entire Recreation Area and back offices.
  3. Carry out daily cleaning of the facility, plus weekly and monthly tasks as assigned by the Recreation Supervisor or Assistant Recreation Manager.
  4. Ensure that equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and secured when not in use.
  5. Manage towels by taking them to and from laundry, ensuring an adequate operational stock at all times.
  6. Perform other duties as required by management, such as lateral service in other parts of the hotel and overnight cleaning.
  7. Ensure excellent customer service and professional behavior at all times, both on and off duty.
  8. Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company and department policies and procedures.
  9. Set up workstations with necessary supplies and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.
  10. Focus on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous, and responding to requests promptly and courteously.
  11. Have a full understanding of the Recreation activities and events.
Services
  1. Provide amenities services to club and hotel guests as outlined in SOP or as directed by supervisor.
  2. Ensure amenities are always available for guests.
Other Duties
  1. Perform all tasks as detailed in daily task and checklist.
  2. Have a comprehensive understanding of the Recreation facilities and activities.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of the work area at all times.
  4. Participate in work-related project teams.
  5. Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with other departments.
  6. Have complete knowledge of the hotel’s products and services, especially sports and leisure activities and equipment.
  7. Follow proper accounting procedures when collecting fees for Recreation services.
  8. Be prepared to assume other Recreation duties or responsibilities as requested by management.
  9. Drive revenues for the department.
Qualifications
  1. 1-3 years of experience in the hotel industry in a similar role.
  2. Pleasing personality and a focused individual.
  3. Ability to handle work pressure and multi-task.
  4. Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).
