A leading company in Qatar seeks a Business Development professional to enhance client relationships and secure new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will support the Country Manager, manage client registrations, and prepare technical proposals, leveraging their engineering background and experience in the oil and gas sector.
New client development, enhancing business with existing clients and introduction of new services.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential business opportunities, industry trends, and competitive intelligence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and project management, to gather relevant information and ensure alignment in business development activities.
Client registrations, including new registrations and renewals, ensuring compliance with necessary documentation and requirements.
Preparation of pre-qualification documents and expression of interest submissions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client specifications.
Support the technical tender process, including coordinating with relevant departments to gather necessary information, compiling technical documentation, and ensuring timely submission.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical teams to develop technical proposals that effectively address client requirements and showcase the company's capabilities.
Prepare marketing write-ups, brochures, and other associated materials to support business development activities and enhance the company's brand image.
Maintain various registrations related to the company, including vendor registration and pre-qualification databases, ensuring up-to-date information and compliance with client requirements.
Update the technical library, including experience lists and qualifications, to showcase the company's capabilities and expertise.
Establish and maintain effective communication channels with clients regarding vendor registration, pre-qualification, and other business development-related inquiries.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of required inputs for proposals and other business development-related activities.
Assist in organizing and participating in industry conferences, exhibitions, and client meetings to enhance the company's visibility and build relationships with potential clients.
Maintain a database of leads, contacts, and client interactions to track and report on business development activities.
Proven experience in the proposals or business development department of oil and gas contractors in the Middle East region.
Strong proficiency in preparing technical tenders, proposals, marketing write-ups, and associated materials.
Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English, with strong business writing skills.
Familiarity with the oil and gas sector, including understanding of industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
Strong technical acumen and ability to understand complex engineering concepts and translate them into clear and compelling proposals.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and communicate with clients.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software tools.
Familiarity with CRM software or similar tools for lead management and tracking.
Ability to work independently and take initiative while also functioning well in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically to identify and pursue business opportunities.
Role Summary:
The primary objective of this role is to support the Country Manager and Corporate Business Development manager in increasing the company's profile and securing business in Qatar. The candidate is expected to establish close relationships with key stakeholders, generate new leads, follow up on existing leads, and support tendering and contract acquisition.
The candidate will set up meetings with customers, partners, and industry contacts regularly to gather market intelligence, secure leads, and follow up on opportunities. Responsibilities include client registrations, pre-qualifications, expression of interest submissions, technical tender support, technical proposal writing, maintaining registrations, updating the technical library, and client communication regarding vendor registration and pre-qualification.
The ideal candidate should have an engineering background and prior experience in the proposals or business development department of oil and gas contractors in the Middle East. Strong proficiency in Business English and excellent writing skills are essential.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
Experience: 0 - 15 years in a similar role, with 5-8 years of GCC experience, including at least 3 years in Qatar, working with companies like Qatar Energy, NOC, Shell GTL, Dolphin Energy, and others.
Experience in supporting business development strategies to achieve growth targets is expected.
